Guided visit of the UPV and FADE to the Oil Museum and the Oil Mill

On Saturday December 11, the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Faculty of Business Administration and Management (FADE), the Professor of Applied Economics, José María García Álvarez-Coque and Professor Pascual Moreno with a group of students visited the Olive Oil Museum and the Olive Mill of the Alto Palanca Olive Cooperative, Coop 2ª GV accompanied by the president, Federico Lozano and the director, Luis Velázquez, with the collaboration of Tourist Info of the Ayuntamiento de Altura.

The Oil Museum is a traditional oil mill from 1927, where the stone mill, the mixer, the press and jars where the oil was kept are located. In the cooperative they visited the oil mill and the new weighing line.

The students were delighted with the visit, the oil extraction process was explained that in previous times was carried out in the Oil Museum and in the current one, in the cooperative.

The Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Faculty of Business Administration and Management (FADE), awarded a recognition to the Alto Palancia Oleícola Cooperative, the President and the Director for the kindness they have had with the teachers and students of show during the olive harvest the process of its transformation into oil, as well as the tastings, and organized discussions. This activity has been of great pedagogical utility for students and teachers and has been part of the field practices that have been programmed in all these years.
